Rose P. Campanelli

Rose P. (Mingrone) Campanelli, age 90, entered into eternal rest on July 22, 2017, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Alphonse J. Campanelli.

Mrs. Campanelli was born in Naugatuck on June 2, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph Mingrone and Anna DeNigris Baron. In her earlier years, she was employed at Hershey Metal Products in Ansonia. Rose enjoyed cooking, sewing, collecting cardinals and especially spending time with her loving family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Robert J. Campanelli (Linda) of New Fairfield and Alan J. Campanelli (Jennifer) of Naugatuck, daughters, Loretta Opotzner (Stephen) of Derby and Linda Forcier (Richard) of Beacon Falls, cherished grandchildren, Cynthia Priest, Melissa Acri (Jordan), Steven Campanelli, Jason Opotzner (Jennifer), Justin Opotzner (Nicole), Brent Campanelli, Sarah Flashman (Micah) and Shane Forcier, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Edward, Joseph and Rocco Mingrone and James Iacuone. 

Visiting hours will be held on Monday July 24, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday at 10:00 am, a funeral service in celebration of Rose’s life will take place in the funeral home with Rev. Russell Lesiw officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Contributions in Rose’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
