Rose Torlish, age 95, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday June 3, 2014 in her daughter’s home. Mrs. Torlish was the devoted wife ot the late Patrick Torlish.
Mrs. Torlish was born in Bridgeport on March 20, 1919, daughter of the late Philip and Carmela Mendicino Mastriano and was a Bridgeport and Stratford resident for most of her life before moving to Shelton a year ago.
She is the beloved mother of Diane Cerritelli and her husband Ken and Patricia Gerber. She is the loving sister of Jean Ruggiero and leaves three cherished grandchildren, Alicia McTigue and her husband Kevin, Kimberly Cerritelli, and Katharine Middlebrook. She also leaves eight loving great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Cerritelli, two brothers, Angelo and Anthony Mastriano, and four sisters, Mary Manente, Connie Romano, Phyllis Smith , and Ann Harding.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Friday in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton. Burial will follow in Lawn Cemetery.
The Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton has been entrusted with her arrangements.
