Rosemarie Watrous, age 82

Rosemarie Watrous, age 82, wife of the late Lawrence Watrous and lifelong Ansonia resident, died July 11. 

She was born March 4, 1928 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Anthony & Rose Lattanzio Yagovane. 

She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, where she sang in the church choir. 

Rosemarie worked as a special education paraprofessional for Ansonia Board of Education for 30 years. 

She is survived by her daughter Laurie Watrous of North Haven, sister Ann Rovinelli of Ansonia, sisters-in-law Agnes Yagovane of Milford, Virginia Yagovane and Frances Karpus of Shelton, and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Alfred, Ted, Jerry, Anthony (Jr.) & William Yagovane and sisters Vincenza Banfi, Frances Piccolo & Lucy Blamey. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. from Holy Rosary Church. There are no calling hours. She will be buried privately in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosemarie’s memory may be made to The Opportunity House through the funeral home.
