Rosina A. Flynn, age 91, entered into rest on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Milford Health and Rehab. Rosina was born in Marzi, Italy, on October 17, 1933, daughter of the late Rosario and Elisa (Tucci) Garofalo, and lived most of her life in Derby before moving to Milford three years ago.
She worked as a secretary at AVCO Lycoming in Stratford for many years. Rosina was also an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed the Derby Senior Center and was the Vice President of the Adriatic Marchegian Club Women’s Auxiliary of Derby, CT. In her time at the senior center she ran bus trips to the casinos, and was always ready with her candies and quarters.
Rose loved Sunday dinners with her family and was an avid NY Yankee and Giants fan. During her lifetime she bowled and enjoyed taking many cruises all over the world. She was proud of her Italian heritage and it showed in her passion for food, but you always had to make sure that the sauce had no chunks. She was a major fan of any cop show on TV, NCIS, Law & Order. She loved all the spinoff shows and would enjoy them with a cigarette and a cup of coffee.
She is the beloved mother of Laurel Post, Judy Beck (Dennis), Paul B. Flynn III (Terri), and Mark Flynn (Jeanne) and proud grandmother of Sarah, Samantha, and Joshua Post, and Casey, Paul, and Patrick Flynn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, where she was affectionately called “Auntie Ro”. Rosina was predeceased by four siblings, Irma, Vincent, Mario, and Robert Garofalo.
Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. On Thursday her procession will leave the parlor at 11:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery.
