Roy B. Teal, 87, of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning, September 2, 2015, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Olive Calvert Teal.
Mr. Teal was born in Portsmouth, England on October 18, 1927, son of the late William J. and Gladys Hibberd Teal. Roy served in the British Army from 1946 until 1952 and later was employed in maintenance at Queen Victoria’s Osbourne House on the Isle of Wight. He was also a butcher and had worked at the Post Office in England. Roy and his family emigrated from England to Seymour in 1969, where he was employed as a machine operator at Seymour Brass Turning in Seymour. Roy enjoyed stamp collecting and playing cards.
In addition to his wife Olive, he is survived by three sons, Christopher J. Teal (Cheryl) of Newport, Isle of Wight, England, Robin E. Teal of Las Vegas, NV and Gavin M. Teal (Donna) of Seymour, a brother, Bob Teal and a sister, Molly Cantelo both of Newport, Isle of Wight, England, in laws, Brian and Sheila Calvert and Palma Calvert of Derby and David Morey of Wolcott, five grandchildren, Jolene, Scott, Daniel, Rachel and Chris, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Teal.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Roy’s memorial service in celebration of his life on Saturday September 12, 2015, at 11:00 am at Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church, 104 Mountain Road in Seymour. Burial will be private.
