Russell Dimitri Haluschak, born on August 15, 1956 in Shelton, Connecticut, entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2025 at the age of 68.
He was the cherished son of Eleanor (Finer) and the late Russell F. Haluschak. Russell leaves behind his wife, Debra Haluschak of Shelton. He was a proud and caring father to his daughter, Lynn Wollman (and Keith) of Florida, and found immense joy in being a grandfather to Kaitlyn and Kristopher. He is survived by his brother David (and Rosanne) Haluschak of Scottsdale AZ, his sister Kim Ellen Haluschak (and Mike DiMauro) of Rocky Hill, as well as his nieces Mikhalia and Amity Haluschak.
Russell now rests alongside his brother Glen Michael, reunited in eternal peace. Russell will be deeply missed by all, especially by his beloved companion and dog, Hendrix.
Russell also leaves behind many loyal and devoted friends who he considered to be brothers. A lifelong resident of Shelton, Russell graduated from Shelton High School in 1974. He built enduring friendships that brought joy and meaning to his life.
His career at Sikorsky Aircraft in the paint shop was a source of pride; for he valued the craftsmanship he brought to each project and the camaraderie he built with colleagues over the years.
Russell’s hobbies reflected both an adventurous spirit and a creative soul. Whether casting a line on tranquil waters while fishing, feeling the wind as he rode his motorcycle, scouring for arrowheads in nature’s quiet corners, or meticulously building model cars with care and creativity — each hobby reflected his zest for life and innate curiosity.
His passions brought him happiness and connected him with those who shared similar interests. His presence touched the lives of many, leaving behind warm memories that will be treasured by all who knew him. May Russell’s legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his loss and celebrate the cherished memories he leaves behind.
