Ruth Sullivan

Ruth Eleanor Bondeson Sullivan, age 96 of Southbury, formerly of Stratford, the beloved wife of the late Walter Sullivan, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Waterbury Hospital.

She was born in Fairfield, CT on January 8, 1918, the daughter of the late Hokan and Tillie Johnson Bondeson.

Ruth was a devout communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford. She was a retired Data Entry Specialist for Harvey Hubbell Company of Bridgeport for 45 years. Ruth was a Southbury resident for the past 30 years. She was an avid homemaker, loved to crochet , knitting hook rugs, and making afghans. Ruth will be sadly missed by her family and friends and will always remain forever in our hearts.

Her loving family includes her three cherished nieces Ruth Ann Cieciuch and her husband Joseph of Seymour, Florence Cote of Newport, Maine and Susan Armonath and her husband David of Fairfield, and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved brother Kenneth Bondeson.

Ruth’s family wishes to thank her two devoted caregivers Allison and Gulya for their compassionate and loving care and also thank the VNA Health@Home and Vitas Hospice Care for their care and support.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the chapel of The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St, 260 Bank Street, (Rt. 67, opposite Klarides Village), Seymour, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd. Oxford CT. Interment will follow in the family plot at Pine Hill Cemetery,Southbury,CT. There will be no visitation.
