Ryan C. Benfield, age 33, unexpectedly entered peaceful rest on June 24, 2023, at his home in Milford. He was the loving husband of Mary Sirochman Benfield.
Ryan was born in Derby, CT on September 21, 1989, son of Jodi L. Greene Story (Paul) of Ansonia and the late Dean C. Benfield. A resident of Milford, he was employed as a Recovery Agent for Skyline Recovery Service. Ryan was a graduate of Ansonia High School class of 2007 and went on to attend Springfield College and the University of New Haven where he played football. He was a hard worker with a great work ethic. Ryan was a bit of a truck enthusiast who enjoyed working on his own trucks. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and was looking forward to welcoming his soon to be precious baby daughter.
In addition to his wife Mary, mother Jodi, and step-father Paul, Ryan leaves to cherish his memory, a brother, Joseph Massa of Ansonia, mother-in-law, Linda Sirochman of Orange, sister-in-law, Michele Montanaro (James) of Orange and their family, Violet, Maxwell and Lucy, brother-in-law, Michael Sirochman III (Lindsay) of Orange, maternal grandfather, Thomas Greene of Seymour, uncle, Sean Greene (Kristine) of Ansonia and their family, Thomas Abbott, Nicholas Greene, and Gina Greene, best friends, Chaz Levey, Josh Brookins and Mike Petry, Goddaughter, Ava Levey, as well as several great aunts and great uncles. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Lola, Storm and Chloe. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Dolores DiLalla Greene.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, all are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial by meeting directly at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia.
