Sally M. Peal, age 90, entered eternal rest on Tuesday evening, November 21, 2023, at Gardner Heights Health Care in Shelton, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of sixty-two years to the late Charles L. Peal.
Mrs. Peal was born in Wallingford, CT on September 26, 1933, daughter of the late Daniel and Ruth Jennings Gallagher. Sally loved being a mom and took wonderful care of her family. In her later years, nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A beautiful legacy she and her late husband created. They enjoyed camping with the family for many years at the Lone Oak Campground in East Canaan, CT, and the eleven years they lived in Ocala, FL. She was a great cook with some of the family favorite’s being Pea Soup, Chicken & Broccoli, and corn chowder.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Charles L. Peal (Jo-Ann) of Melbourne, FL, and James D. Peal (Sarah) of Ocala, FL, daughters, Karen R. Bergquist of W. Melbourne, FL and Cynthia Bednar (Roger) of Ansonia, daughter-in-law, Jeanine Peal of Lyndonville, VT, grandchildren, Michael Peal (Alyssa), Jennifer Walker, Carl Bergquist (Laura Hobart), Matthew Bergquist, David Bergquist, Katelyn Baron (Robert), Robert Bednar (Jackie), Joshua Peal, Caleb Peal, Emily Peal, Allison Gorlo (Greg), Kristina Peal, and Shannon Peal, great-grandchildren, Isabella Peal, Dain Padilla, Joey Cotela, Liliana and Bobby Bednar, Adalyn and Robbie Baron, Greg “G.” Gorlo, Jaxson Gorlo, Adiana, Skye, and Nash Peal, and Mason Martinez, several nieces, nephews, and canine companion Cassie. She was predeceased by sons, Richard Peal and Daniel M. Peal, a grandson, Daniel S. Peal, brothers, John, Daniel, and Roy Gallagher and sisters, Vivian Ream and Patricia McCarthy.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Saturday morning, November 25, 2023, from 8:30 am until 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral procession then will leave for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
