Salvatore Tori Fauci

Salvatore Tori Fauci, age 83, passed away on June 9, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, following a long illness.

Sal was born on January 4, 1939 (the blessed event” as he would say) and was the oldest son of Thomas and Candace Fauci. He married Barbara Stokes on May 5, 1962, and they were married 43 years, until her untimely death.

Sal was a team member of the 1951 Little League World Champions and the 1953 & 1954 Babe Ruth League World Champions of Stamford, CT. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a long-time employee of Pitney Bowes. After retirement Sal looked for ways to stay active. He joined the local gym and became a member of the Silver Sluggers. Everyone who knew Sal knew he loved watching his Yankees and Green Bay Packers. Sal loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A perfect day to him was when he was surrounded by his loved ones.

Sal is survived by his three children, Cindy, Allison (Scott), Thomas (Caren); six grandchildren, Christopher (Heidi), Raechel (Matt), Stephanie, Thomas, Tyler, and Talia; four great-grandchildren, Bohdi Salvatore, Evelyn, Bryce, and Nora; brother, James (Linda) and sisters-in law, Nancy, and Patricia; and cherished nieces, Sunday, Spring Serena, Tracey and Dana.

Sal was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Candace; wife Barbara; infant daughter, Beverly, brother, Thomas and nephew, Scott.

Sal’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will be forever grateful for his strength and will to survive during his long illness that gave us many extra years with him. We all know he will be watching over us and cheering on his Yankees and Packers from Heaven.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday June 17, 2022, from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 10:30 am, a funeral service in celebration of Sal’s life will take place with Deacon Victor Lembo officiating. Interment with U.S. Marine Corp. military honors will follow in Mount Saint Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local Little League Team Organizations.
