Salvatore Voldure

Salvatore Voldure, 93, husband of the late Philomena Pagliaro Voldure, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday morning October 19, 2009 at the Hilltop Health Care in Ansonia. 

Mr. Voldure was born in Derby on March 16, 1916 son of the late Angelo and Margaret Landona Voldure. 

A lifelong resident of Derby, he was employed in the quality control dept. at the former Pratt & Whitney in North Haven until his retirement. He was also a self-employed carpenter for many years. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy during WW 2. Sal was especially known for his beautiful flower gardens in his yard. 

He is survived by two brothers, Joseph Volduro of Derby and George Volduro and his wife Beatrice of Seymour, two sisters, Theresa Raccio of Ansonia and Angelina Danielecki and her husband Alexander of Derby and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Mary Eletto. 

Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday Oct. 22 at 10:30 a.m. from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Jude’s Church in Derby. Burial with Navy military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Visiting will be held on THURSDAY MORNING from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church.
