Samuel M Verzi Jr., age 82 of Shelton entered into rest on Friday August 26, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Derby on July 2,1940 and was a life long Shelton resident. Sam was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft for many years until his retirement.
Son of the late Samuel M. Verzi Sr and Mary (Zdanuk) Verzi. Sam was the beloved father of Samuel M. Verzi III and step-father of Kimberly Hames, brother of Michael Verzi and sister in law Barbara Verzi, sister Theresa Stanko and late brother in law Stephen Stanko. Sam was the loving grandfather of Marissa Verzi and was survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was an active member of St. Michaels church. He had a passion for sports and was a fan of the Raiders. He enjoyed attending the Army Navy football games with his son and took many bus trips to Atlantic City. He enjoyed going on road trips with his family and The Big E was one of his favorite things to do. He was an avid car enthusiast.
We will always carry his memory in our hearts and he will be dearly missed.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Friday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Ave., Derby for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. His burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
