Sandra A. (Maffeo) Vicari, age 72, a resident of Morris since 1985, entered into eternal rest on August 5, 2020, at Hartford Hospital, following a short illness. She was the beloved and devoted wife of 49 years to Salvatore P. Vicari.
Sandra was born in Derby on June 7, 1948, daughter of the late Angelo and Geraldine Boles Maffeo. A graduate of Ansonia High School in 1966 and UConn in 1970, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, was employed as a supervisor for the State of CT Dept. of Social Services in Waterbury for 34 years and later as a social worker for the town of Woodbury for 10 years, until her retirement.
In addition to her husband Sal, she is survived by loving brothers, Joseph A. Maffeo (Deborah) of Oxford and Dennis A. Maffeo of Waterbury and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday August 13, 2020, at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Please meet directly at the church at 9:45 am. Masks are required in church as well as social distancing. Inurnment will follow in the family plot in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
