Sandra M. Savoy, age 75 of Newington, formerly of Shelton, passed away August 22, 2014 at Southington Care Center surrounded by her family.
Sandra was born in Derby, April 29, 1939, daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Marchetto) Savoy.
She was a graduate of Shelton High School and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Bridgeport and was employed as a programmer analyst for Pratt & Whitney for many years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Holy Spirit Church of Newington and was a former parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Shelton.
She is survived by her aunt Joan Savoy of Oxford; her beloved Godson John Stockla of Seymour; her cherished cousin Marcia Viggiano and her husband Nick of Southington; her dearest friend of many years Edna Sorenson of Newington, and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, Shelton. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM in the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton.
