Sharon A. (Pow) Donovan, age 73 of Oxford, beloved wife of John T. Donovan, entered peaceful rest on Friday, May 5, 2023 in Milford Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on September 18, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie (Mester) Pow, Sr.
A retired bookkeeper for Warnaco, Sharon had a passion for anything with a needle and thread. She was an avid knitter, loved to crochet, and was also a quilt instructor. Sharon enjoyed traveling, whether by boat, train, or the months-long trip touring the United States by car. Family was most important to her, and she especially loved spending her time with her cherished grandchildren.
In addition to her husband John, of 53 years, survivors include her loving children, Melissa Wensky and her husband Jonathan of MA, and Brian Donovan and his wife Deborah of CA; 5 cherished grandchildren, Jack Wensky, Grace Wensky, Kayla Donovan, Emily Donovan and Natalie Donovan, as well as many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her brother, William Pow, Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 4pm to 7:30pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483, with a Celebration of her life taking place at 7:30pm. Committal services will start at 9:30am on Saturday, May 13th, in the funeral home and conclude at 11am in Southford Cemetery, Oxford.
