Shirley A. Morey, 69, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening, September 28, 2013, at Griffin Hospital.
Mrs. Morey was born in Bridgeport on October 12, 1943, daughter of the late William and Rose Abate Rogg. Shirley was a resident of Bridgeport before moving to Ansonia in 1961. She was a member of the Valley Social Club in Ansonia and cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three loving daughters, Donna Frashuer (Edward Sr.) of Ansonia, Laurie Luke ( Eugene) of West Palm Beach, FL, and Sherri Knapik (Bruce Jr.) of Beacon Falls, five brothers, Richard Rogg and William Rogg of FL, Alton Rogg and Ronald Rogg of Shelton and George Rogg of Bethlehem, two sisters, Julia Grosner of FL and Mary DeAngelo of Ansonia, four grandchildren, Jeremy and Whitney Luke of FL, Sara Frashuer of Ansonia and Derek Knapik of Beacon Falls, two great-grandchildren, Adrian and Jordan Luke, beloved friend Richard Cappellacci of Derby and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Rogg and a sister, Dolores Bush.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 2, 2013, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service and celebration of Shirley’s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Private inurnment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
