Shirley A. Teodosio, 82, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2013, at Lord Chamberlain H.C. in Stratford, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick J. Teodosio.
Mrs. Teodosio was born in Ansonia on August 26, 1931, daughter of the late Richard and Margaret Bergin Dobbins. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was a graduate of Ansonia High School and communicant of Assumption Church. She was employed for several years at Uniroyal in Naugatuck and later was a day care aide. Shirley loved people and was blessed with the “gift of gab”. She was happiest when she was entertaining friends and family, decorating her home for the holidays, traveling with her husband, having breakfast at the Valley Diner with the gang, playing with her granddaughter, but most of all, spending summers at the beach in Milford with the whole Dobbins clan.
She is survived by a loving daughter, Peggy Boulos and her husband David of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, a cherished granddaughter, Juliette Boulos, a brother, Edward Dobbins of Cheshire, two sisters, Marjorie Bradley of Ansonia and Mary Volanth of Milford and numerous nieces and nephews, who all where very dear to her. She was predeceased by brothers, Richard, Nicholas, Leroy and John Dobbins, sisters, Jeanne Cook, Phyllis Connors and Dorothy Murray and an uncle, Edward Bergin.
Peggy would like to extend very special thanks to Shirley’s niece, Patt Tretiak and her husband Steve, for their devoted care. Also, thanks to her niece Susan Volanth, who was always there with a smile to support us and help in any way she could. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the staff at Carriage Green Assisted Living in Milford and the Fourth Floor nursing staff at Lord Chamberlain.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday October 8, 2013, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Wednesday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 8:45 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Memorial contributions in Shirley’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Heart Association through the funeral home.
