Sophia Mary Domurad, age 92, of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Griffin Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the devoted wife of 61 years to Henry Joseph Domurad, Sr. Mrs. Domurad was born in Derby, on December 24, 1921 daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Peryt and was a lifelong Shelton resident. She was a teller at the former Shelton Trust Bank until her retirement. She also worked at the Shelton High School Library. Mrs. Domurad was very active at the Shelton Senior Center, and was a member of their Ceramics Club She also enjoyed quilting.
Mrs. Domurad is the beloved mother of Henry Joseph Domurad, Jr. and his wife Deborah and the late Mark Thomas Domurad and mother-in-law of Sharon Domurad. She is the loving grandmother of Christopher Domurad and his wife Dana, Heather Hart and her husband Ryan, and Ryan and Kristina Domurad, great grandmother of Jackson Domurad.
Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church. Her burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
