Stacia F. (Osiecki) Balko, age 96, of Derby, entered into peaceful rest on January 14, 2022, at Shady Oaks Assisted Living in Bristol, following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of forty-eight years to the late George Balko, “her happiness.”
Stacia was born in Ansonia on January 26, 1925, daughter of the late Chester and Michaelina Niezelski Osiecki. She attended St. Joseph parochial school in Ansonia and was a graduate of Ansonia High School. Stacia was employed as the head secretary for American Brass in Ansonia and also worked a variety of other jobs later in life. She was a hard worker and lived a rich, full life. Stacia enjoyed growing vegetables, baking and caring for her family. She was an active member of the Derby Senior Center where she was elected president two terms in a row.
Stacia leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Patricia of Hartford County, and a granddaughter, Stacy, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Bernard, Philip, Theodore and Daniel Osiecki and a sister Lucille Kopchik.
Stacia’s funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
