Stanley J. “Buddy” Dojnia, 86, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2013, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Jacquelin Mitton Dojnia.
Mr. Dojnia was born in Ansonia on December 11, 1926, son of the late Edmund B. Dojnia Sr. and Mildred Davies Dojnia.
A resident of Ansonia for most of his life, he was employed as a sheet metal worker for Union Local 40 for forty years until his retirement. He honorably served during World War II in the U.S. Merchant Marines.
He is survived by two sons, David A. Dojnia and Mark A. Dojnia of Ansonia, a daughter, Lorrie A. Dojnia of Ansonia, a brother, Edmund “Sonny” Dojnia of Ansonia, two sisters, Marion Drewelus and Isabella Dobbins of Seymour, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Gregg E. Dojnia and a brother, John A. Dojnia.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday November 6, 2013, from 4 – 6:30 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 6:30 pm, a funeral service and celebration of Buddy’s life will take place. Burial will be private.
