Stephen Thomas Rose, age 73, of Shelton, beloved husband of 47 years to the late Linda (Frouge) Rose fell asleep in death on May 8, 2024. He was the adored son of the late Frank Reginald Rose and Kathryn (Nicholas) Rose and was born on May 6, 1951 in Bridgeport.
Steve grew up in the Trumbull area but later settled with his family in Shelton where he would remain until his death. Although Steve’s passion was to be an artist, his priority was to be a good provider for his family and so began his career in the trucking world. He drove for several companies in the Fairfield county area: Fairfield Lumber, Stephenson Lumber, Pella Windows, New England Railroad and lastly, at O&G. Steve enjoyed playing pranks on his co-workers and was affectionately called “RoseBud”. Steve died a proud member the Teamsters Retirees Local 191 Chapter.
Steve loved fishing, camping, tag sales and being in the great outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed taking care of his Winibig Trail home, doing so many DIY projects and bringing home countless trees that people were removing at construction sites, giving them a new life in his yard. But the thing he loved most was just spending time with his beautiful wife and daughters.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Ann Rose and Shellie (Rose) Setum (and husband, Rick Setum). He was the exceptionally proud grandfather of Nicholas Setum. Steve is survived by his brother, Sterling Rose and his sister, Dana DiGuiseppi. He was not only “brother-in-law” but truly “big brother” to all of his wife’s siblings in the Frouge family. He was “Uncle Steve” to countless nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. And he was the proud furry father of his beautiful German Shepherd dog, Lucy. Steve will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
The family invites everyone to attend a memorial service that will be held on Monday, May 27th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1 Platt Road, Shelton.
