Steve Bobin Jr., 88, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2016 at Maple View Manor in Rocky Hill, CT. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Evelyn Maloney Bobin.
Steve was born in Fayette City, PA on January 3, 1928, son of the late Steve and Rose Bobin. He worked in the Vista Coal Mines before joining the U.S. Army in 1950. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War, serving in the Military Police. Steve received his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Haven and worked for United Aircraft and Sikorsky Aircraft before retiring in 1989. Steve was a member of the CWV Post 1562, American Legion Post 50, and American-Russian Citizens Club. Steve enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking, gardening, and watching sports. He will be remembered for his kind nature, good advice, quiet sense of humor, and unwavering love and dedication for his family.
In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by a loving daughter, Lisa Bagley (Bill Carlson) of Newington, CT, a loving son, Steve Bobin (Kimberly) of Wethersfield, CT, loving daughter Stacey Martin (Tony) of Santa Rosa, CA; cherished grandchildren Alexander Bobin, Michael Bobin, and Maxwell Martin, sister in law, Mary Irene DellaRocco of Ansonia, CT, brother in law, Donald Maloney of Las Vegas, NV and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday July 11, 2016, from 5 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday, his funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Army military honors will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
