Susan J. DiStasi, 96, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning January 15, 2017, at the Lutheran Home in Southbury. She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew J. DiStasi.
Mrs. DiStasi was born in Derby on January 1, 1921, daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine DeMayo Gaetano. She was a resident of Seymour and Ansonia before moving to Southbury in 2008. Sue enjoyed going on vacations and playing cards.
She is survived by a loving and devoted daughter, Patricia DiStasi of Southbury, a son, Matthew F. DiStasi of Boynton Beach, FL, grandchildren, Jason and Stephanie DiStasi of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and John Gaetano and sisters, Theresa Egan and Viola Schuld.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Monday January 23, 2017, at 9:00 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at St. Mary’s Church, 212 Elizabeth Street in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. There will be no visiting hours. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
