Susan L. Jamroz (Novelli), age 76 of Seymour, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in her home. She was the devoted wife to the late Walter Jamroz. Sue was born in Derby, CT, daughter of the late Joseph and Carmella (Santilli) Novelli.
Sue had one brother-in-law, James Jamroz and his wife Eileen of Smithfield, RI, as well as their children, Jaclyn, Michael, and Michelle, and seven grandchildren. As an only child, Sue was grateful for her 10 first cousins. She was predeceased by her youngest cousin, Michael Merola. The light of her life was her niece, Sara Fogarty, and her husband Andrew and children, Fiona and Patrick of Norwood, MA.
Sue was a graduate of St. Vincent’s School of Nursing and was an exceptional nurse for over 40 years. Her working career included over 30 years at St. Vincent’s Hospital and 7 years at Gastroenterology Associates of Fairfield prior to her retirement.
Sue and her late husband, Walt, loved to travel and went on many cruises. She was a kind, loving, and generous person to all who knew her. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with family and friends. Sue was an excellent Italian cook, a great joke teller, and loved to entertain through her many holiday dinners and summer picnics. She loved to play bocce ball and pinochle and was an avid UConn Women’s Basketball fan. Sue was a breast cancer survivor and was part of the Seymour Pink organization.
Sue, through her illness, would like to thank her close nurse friends, Rosemary DiGennaro and Ann Ballas, who supported her by taking her to doctor’s appointments as well as the many doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She would also like to thank the Hospice nurses from Hartford HealthCare who cared for her in her final days.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton on Sunday, June 29th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. On Monday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 AM for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Church, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Burial will be private in Mount St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sue’s memory to Seymour Pink.. Online condolences can be offered at www.riverviewfh.com.
