Susan S. Dodge

Susan S. Dodge, age 77, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 15, 2023, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Richard E. Dick” Dodge Sr.

Susan was born in Bridgeport on November 15, 1945, daughter of the late James and Linda Stowe O’Neill. She was employed as a pharmacy technician at White Hills Pharmacy in Shelton for over twenty-five years, until her retirement. Sue liked trips to the casino, playing Bingo, and fishing with her husband. She loved all animals and wildlife, especially her feline companions and feeding and watching the hummingbirds in her backyard. Above all, she was happiest when surrounded by her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Richard, she leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Christopher P. Dodge of MA, and Richard J. Bummer” Dodge (Pamela) of Ansonia, a daughter, Cheryl L. Kekacs (Fred) of Derby, sisters, Linda Sherwood of Shelton, and Patricia Boss (Jamie) of Hampton, CT, adored grandchildren, Shawna Dodge and Alexis Dobbins of Derby, Jake Dodge of Ansonia, and Amanda O’Shea of Vermont as well as several nieces, nephews and her loving extended family and friends in Barre, Vermont.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Susan’s life on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Catholic War Veterans Hall, 112 Derby Avenue in Derby. She will privately be buried in Oak Cliff Cemetery in Derby. Contributions in Sue’s memory may be made to the Ansonia Animal Shelter, 1 North Division Street, Ansonia, CT 06401. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Vincent’s Medical Center 6th floor for their wonderful care.
