Tekla “Tessie” Pachnick, 90, formerly of Fairfield and Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Louis Pachnick, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 14, 2011, at Gardner Heights in Shelton.
Mrs. Pachnick was born in Bridgeport on January 19, 1920, daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie Hetkowski Rafalowicz. A resident of Fairfield for most of her life, she moved to Ansonia in 2004. She was employed as a toll collector for the State of Connecticut for many years until her retirement. Tessie enjoyed gardening and served as Past President of the former V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Fairfield.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Pachnick and his wife Patricia of TX, a brother, Raymond Rafalowicz of CA, 3 sisters, Adele M. Hansen of Shelton, Joan Zarifian of Monroe, and Regina Marchetti of AZ, grandchildren, Christine and Michael, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Sophie Plofkin.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday January 26, 2011, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia. Inurnment will take place in the spring in Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield. Per Tessie’s request, there will be no calling hours.
