Theodore “Ted” Postupack

Theodore Ted” Postupack, age 81, entered into eternal rest on October 17, 2012 at Birmingham Health Care Center. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Fratrick) Postupack; his wife of 59 years.

Teddy was born in Tamaqua, PA on Feb. 22, 1931 to the late Peter and Mary (Duschavage) Postupack. He spent his childhood in PA, and after marrying his wife, relocated to Shelton in 1956. Theodore was employed as a machinist and later promoted to Foreman by Sikorsky Aircraft until retiring after 33 years of dedicated service.

Teddy loved nature and the great outdoors where he could be found sailing, horseback riding, hunting deer, chopping wood or lovingly tending his gardens. He was also a stained glass artist, fantastic woodworker, and auto mechanic hobbyist. Theodore was a self- taught master craftsman, who was often recruited for installing cabinets that he had made. He also gave his time as an usher at St. Joseph Church, Shelton and will be remembered as a jack of all trades, master of all.

Teddy is the loving father of Jeffrey Postupack and his wife Heidi, Jaeynka (Janet) Postupack, and Judith Stark; the caring grandfather of Andrew, Kathryn, Jonathan, and Justin; and brother of Pauline Duncavage and Millie Noga. He was predeceased by 6 brothers and 6 sisters.

On Friday at 10:30 AM, friends and family are invited to St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be held on Saturday in his family cemetery in Hudsondale, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., NY, NY 10001. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with his arrangements. Please leave condolences to his family at www.riverviewfh.com
