Theresa M. Sorce, age 86, of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Michael Joseph Sorce, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Seymour on April 3, 1932, daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria Barbour Sarkes.
Theresa was a lifelong Seymour resident and a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church of Seymour. She enjoyed playing cards and caring for her pets, especially her grand dog Rosie. Most of all, Theresa loved spending time and doing many activities with her granddaughter Victoria. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends but will remain forever in our hearts.
Theresa’s family includes her loving daughter Michelle Koether and her husband Robert of Seymour, her three devoted sisters Madeline Sarkes and Dorothy Sarkes of Seymour and Patricia Joseph of Groton, her caring sister in law Jacqueline Sarkes of Seymour, her cherished granddaughter Victoria, 10 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers Thomas Sarkes and Alfred Sarkes and her two sisters Joan Webber and Marie Sarkes.
A Funeral Service in Celebration of Theresa’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 9:15 am in the chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Rt. 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery in Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 8:30 am until the beginning of the services at 9:15 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Theresa’s memory may be made to the Victoria Koether Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
