Thomas A. Flaminio, age 63, entered peaceful rest on December 18, 2022, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. He was the loving husband of Caroline A. (Boyle) Flaminio.
Tom was born in Derby on October 24, 1959, son of the late Kenneth J. and Angelina Passafiume Flaminio. He was a graduate of Derby High School, where he played basketball, then went on to further his education at the University of New Haven and graduated from Sacred Heart University. Tom was employed as an IT specialist for NASDAQ then later Pitney Bowes until his retirement. His coaching career included coaching for Derby Middle School boys basketball, Ansonia freshmen boys basketball and he was also the head coach for Ansonia High School Girls basketball. Tom was the former director of the Seymour boys recreational basketball league, and the former President of Bungay Elementary School PTA. He played Valley slow pitch softball and was a member of the Silver Slugger’s Club in Derby. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of UCONN Basketball, and loved watching and attending NY Mets and NY Giants games.
In addition to his wife Caroline, Tom leaves to cherish his memory, loving daughters, Joanna and Julia Flaminio, a brother, Michael Flaminio, nephew, Patrick Boyle, Godson, David Facchini and Godmother Faye Facchini (Armando) as well as many cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday morning, all are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, meeting directly, at the Church of the Good Shepherd/St. Nicholas Parish, 135 Mountain Road in Seymour at 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s name may be made directly to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
