Thomas C. Gaetano, Jr., age 60, of Derby entered into rest on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Griffin Hospital in Derby.
Thomas was born in Derby on March 31, 1955, beloved son of Thomas C. Gaetano Sr. and Mary Ann Bryce Gaetano, and lived in Ansonia and Derby his entire life.
He worked as an assembler calibrator at Ashcroft Inc. in Stratford for over 35 years. Thomas was very athletic and captained of his high school basketball team. He enjoyed coaching and was an avid Yankees and Giants fan. He loved gardening and also enjoyed cooking.
He is survived by Rose Gaetano, mother of his beloved children Kevin Gaetano, Brian Gaetano, and Dawn Christo (Eric). He also leaves a cherished granddaughter Makayla Christo, a sister, Beverly Tontini (Joseph), two nephews, Zachary Filipowich and Tyler Filipowich, and two nieces, Jaclyn Tontini and Elizabeth Tontini‑L’heureux (John). He was predeceased by his sister Gail Filipowich.
Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. On Friday his procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Jude’s Church in Derby. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby.
