Thomas E. “Gus” Gustafson, age 61, of Ansonia entered into rest on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was the devoted husband of 13 years to Judith (Gale) Gustafson.
Thomas was born in Bridgeport, on Jan. 19, 1954 beloved son of Harold and Gertrude (Gray) Gustafson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. Thomas was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft for 34 years until his retirement in 2014. He was a skilled leatherworker. Thomas also loved to fish and watch the TV show MASH.
He is the loving stepfather of Chad and Matthew Andrews and Melissa Woods and her husband Charles Woods, Jr. and grandfather of Nathaniel, Dakota and Colton Woods and Sierra Andrews. Thomas is also survived by a brother-in-law William Gale and his wife Diane and a sister-in-law Elizabeth Kremmel and her husband William and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Linda Williams.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Monday, friends are invited to go directly to the Huntington United Methodist Church, 338 Walnut Tree Hill Rd., Shelton for his funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
