Thomas E. Korzan, 62, of Oxford, peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2012, at the Masonic Home in Wallingford.
Mr. Korzan was born in Derby on June 21, 1950, son of the late John and Eleanor Sadlowski Korzan. Tom was a lifelong resident of Ansonia before moving to Oxford in 1999. He was employed by Big Y World Class Market in Newtown for many years until his illness. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he honorably served during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by a loving and devoted sister, Cecilia “Cissie” Athanasiou and her husband George of Oxford, 2 nephews, Marc Athanasiou and his wife Jennifer of Ansonia and Jason Athanasiou and his fiancée Maria Gutierrez of Oxford, a niece, Erin Athanasiou of Derby, a great nephew, Christian Athanasiou, a great niece, Angel Lynn, and many cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday August 17, 2012, at 10:30 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Interment with U.S. Navy military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on THURSDAY from 5 – 7 pm.
