Thomas F. DeMaio, a 62-year-old resident of Hollywood, Fla., passed away June 23, 2015.
He was born March 24, 1953 in New Haven, son of the late James & Domenica DeMaio.
Thomas was educated in the Oxford school system and graduated from Pomperaug High School. He worked as a chef for the family’s business, The Oxford House. He then moved to Amagansett L.I. and began a career as a music & lighting director in discoes and nightclubs in the U.S. and abroad, including Studio 54’s in Homberg, Germany, Barcelona, Spain & Singapore as well as The Façade in Miami & The Palladium in N.Y.C. Because of his deep love of animals, he was instrumental in improving a dog park in Hollywood, Fla. where he spent many happy hours with his dogs Mugzie & Rocky.
He leaves his two sisters May Louise Guluzzy (Carl) of Southbury CT & Deerfield Beach, Fl. & Joy Tranquilli of Southbury, CT and brother Edward DeMaio (Aimee) of Concord, VT and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, especially Mitchell Zidel. He was predeceased by his brother James DeMaio.
Private services have been held.
