Thomas J. Paulsen

Thomas J. Paulsen, age 68, of Derby entered into rest on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at CT Hospice with his loving family by his side.

He was the devoted husband of 25 years to Rita P. (Smith) Paulsen.

Thomas was born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 8, 1947, son of the late Glen and Virginia (Habel) Paulsen. He grew up in Michigan until moving to Orange. Then, Thomas and Rita moved to Derby.

Thomas attended Art School in NY and was an architect in CT for many years before his retirement. He rode his Harley Davidson FX for most of his life and designed his own jewelry. Thomas also had a great appreciation for art and he played the guitar.

He is the step-father of Rita Juzwiakowski, Sharon Belfonti and her husband John, and Debbie Juzwiakowski, brother of, Nancy Marshall, grandfather of Cassandra, step-grandfather of, Tracy, Jared, Alyssa, Vera, Jack and Maya and Step-great-grandfather of Leo. Thomas is also survived by a daughter Tristan.

Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church at 11:00 a.m. His burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
