Vincent Pertoso

Vincent Pertoso, 74 of King, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on Sunday October 29, 2023. Vincent was born at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut, and was the son of the late Carmen and Demetra Pertoso. 

Vincent attended Derby High School, where he played the trumpet in the highschool band, graduating in 1967. His love of playing trumpet was a life-long one, and he continued to play in a variety of bands throughout his life up until his passing. 

Vincent served his country in the United States Air Force and was a veteran. He also enjoyed being a member of a Masonic Lodge. 

By profession, Vincent was an engineer for decades, working in a variety of roles and companies, and as such was listed in the Marquis Who’s Who for his outstanding achievements in the industry. He was also a life-long learner and continued to study engineering and was passionate about American history until his passing. 

For all of Vincent’s accomplishments, his greatest love was his children and grandchildren. He always called his children the greatest achievement” of his life. For all his life, he was a selfless man who would do anything to help any of them.

Vincent treasured his faith throughout his life, and most recently was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Winston Salem.

Left to cherish his memories are his children — Michael Pertoso, Andrea Pertoso, Natalie Pertoso, Emily Pertoso Portanova and husband Matthew Portanova, and Jason Pertoso and wife Sarah; grandchildren — Ethan Portanova, Ella Portanova Abby Pertoso, Nathan Pertoso, Bella Pertoso, and Jace Pertoso. He is also survived by his sister Kathy Johnson and brother James Pertoso and niece Stephanie Pertoso, who held a special place in his heart. Also surviving is his best friend, Barbara Reeves.

Services for Vincent will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Aldie, Virginia on Monday, November 6th from 10:00 – 12:15 followed by interment at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bluemont, Virgina. 

We will miss you Dad. Thank you so much for everything you shared with us in this life. We are so grateful that we had you as our father and will remember you with love. Rest in peace in the eternal love of Jesus.
