Vincenza Borgesano

Vincenza Borgesano, age 92, entered eternal rest on June 17, 2024, at Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour, with her loving family by her side. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Dominic Borgesano. Vincenza was born in Isnello, Sicily, Italy on August 4, 1931, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Nicolina Vacca Curcio. 

A resident of Ansonia since immigration from Italy in 1970, she was employed at the former Uniroyal Corporation in Naugatuck then later at the former Crookhorn Davis in Shelton.

Vincenza was a devout communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. She was a fantastic cook who loved making Sunday family dinners, serving her famous meatballs, and baking cookies. She was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. 

Vincenza leaves to cherish her memory, children, Antonina Borgesano Dolce of Collesano, Sicily, Italy, Nicolina Cirino (Philip) of Fort Wayne, IN, Pasquale Borgesano (Coleen) of Seymour, and Joanne Donofrio (Robert Davis) of Oxford, sister, Teresa Alberti of Torino, Italy, sister-in-law, Concetta Filippone of Ansonia, grandchildren, Antonia DeBenedetto of Collesano, Sicily, Italy, Leo Cirino (Roxie) of Jacksonville, FL, Jennifer Ramey (Jen) of Fort Wayne, IN, Nicolas Donofrio (Lindsay) of East Haven and Amanda Donofrio of Shelton, great-grandchildren, Ileana, Lorena, Jilliann and Arianna along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Vincenzo Curcio and sisters, Maria Guzzio, Salvatrice Curcio and Domenica Barca. 

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. 

Her funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
