Vincenzo Cusano

Vincenzo Cusano, age 93, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 29, 2018, at Griffin Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Filomena Petrazzuoli Cusano. 

Mr. Cusano was born in Ruviano, Province of Caserta, Italy on February 15, 1925, son of the late Domenico and Giuseppa Melillo Cusano. A resident of Ansonia since 1971, he was employed at the former Seamless Rubber Co. in New Haven and later at the former First Bank in New Haven, until his retirement in 1987. Vincenzo cherished his time with family and friends, tending to his garden, wood working and entertaining others playing the accordion and harmonica. 

In addition to his wife Filomena, he leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Dominic A. Cusano (Debra), a daughter, Josephine DiMatteo (Joseph) of Ansonia, cherished grandchildren, Robert DiMatteo (Paula) of Watertown, Louis DiMatteo (Paula) of Naugatuck, Sandra DiMatteo of Hoboken, NJ, Vincenzo Cusano of Ansonia and Maria Cusano of Boston, MA, great-grandchildren, Nathan and Victoria DiMatteo and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Pasquale and Pietro Cusano and sisters, Angelina Menone, Rosalia DelVecchio, Mary Cusano, Nancy Veccharelli and Margarita Cimino. 

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 3, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. 

On Thursday, his funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
