Vincenzo Marino, 92, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday January 19, 2014, at Griffin Hospital, following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Francesca Mignosa Marino.
Mr. Marino was born in Melilli, Sicily, Italy on September 9, 1921, son of the late Sebastiano and Sebastiana Saraceno Marino. He was a resident of Florida and Middletown, CT before moving to Ansonia. Mr. Marino was employed as a tailor until his retirement.
He is survived by dearest friends and devoted caregivers, Michele and Biagio DiMartino of Ansonia, Godson, Robert Mignosa and Donna Mignosa of New Haven, cousins, Graziella Augeri of Middletown and Sebastiana and Carmelina of Sicily, Italy, friends, Salvatore and Concetta Pennuto of Middletown and Gaetano Giugno of Ansonia and several nieces. He was predeceased by brothers, Vittorio and Salvatore Marino and a sister, Maria Marino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 22, 2014, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia. Visiting will take place on Wednesday morning from 8:30 am until the procession leaves for church at the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
