Violet M. Lloyd, 94, of Orange, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2014, at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 71 years to the late Norvel W. “Brownie” Lloyd.
Mrs. Lloyd was born in Ansonia on April 19, 1919, daughter of the late Sebastian and Susan Lanteri Cannata. A resident of Orange since 1956, she was employed as a seamstress at the former Valley Dress Co. in Ansonia until her retirement in 1982. She was a communicant of Holy Infant Church in Orange and a member of its Ladies Guild.
She is survived by two loving daughters, Donna Cuthbert and her husband Stuart of Ocala, FL and Gail Cuomo and her husband Robert of Orange, a brother, Seb Cannata of Ansonia, 3 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Minnie Dube, Ann Vacca and Jane Conroy.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Friday March 28, 2014, at 10:30 am at Holy Infant Church in Orange for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting will take place from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church at the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver St. in Ansonia.
