Virginia “Ginny” Duh, age 79, entered into peaceful rest on December 27, 2022, at Griffin Hospital, following a long and courageous battle with dementia. She was the beloved wife of forty-five years to James E. Duh.
Ginny was born in Woodbridge, CT on June 4, 1943, daughter of the late Elmer Carl Raver and Josephine BonTempo Raver. A resident of Derby for most of her life, she was employed as a manager for the former Cross Court Tennis in Derby, and also worked for Bethany Tennis Club and Derby Tennis Club. Later, she worked in the accounting department at St. Vincent’s Special Needs Services in Trumbull for twenty-five years, until her retirement. Ginny loved cooking and was an excellent cook! She hosted many memorable Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at her home that were enjoyed by all who attended. She was an avid golfer and tennis player, loved to sew and crochet, and was an expert at word games, especially Scrabble.
In addition to her husband James, she leaves a son, Joseph Zmuda of Beacon Falls, a daughter, Christine Fahrenholz (Robert) of Scotch Plains, NJ, grandchildren, Christopher Zmuda of West Hartford, Jackie and Gina Mae Fahrenholz of Scotch Plains, NJ, a brother, Robert Raver (Karen) of Woodbridge, sisters, Elizabeth Gorman of Bethany, and Nancy Granger (Robert) of Hamden, sister-in-law, Joani Kibbey (Dale) of Marion, OH, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Alexander Raver.
