Virginia Mastrianni, age 96, of Shelton peacefully entered into rest on Monday, July 11, 2022, in her home. She was the devoted wife of the late Anthony J. Mastrianni, Sr. Virginia was born in Derby on August 24, 1925, daughter of the late Thomas and Christine (Lisi) Gaito, and lived in Shelton her whole life.
She worked as an assembler for Autoswage until 1989. Virginia enjoyed music, cooking and entertaining. Above all she was devoted to and loved spending time with her beloved family.
She is the beloved mother of Christine Mastrianni Fonda, Deborah Mastrianni, Anthony J. Mastrianni Jr., and Sandra Deptula, proud grandmother of five grandchildren, Deanna Tucciarone, David Fonda, Nicole Phillips and her husband Emmett, Joseph Deptula IV, and Benjamin Deptula and his wife Lindsay, and cherished great-grandmother of Kaylen and Brooke Fonda, Joseph Deptula V, Benjamin Deptula, Jr., Brooks Deptula, and Gracie Kimmerle. Virginia was also survived by her sister, Sophie-Ann Gaito. She was predeceased by three brothers, Alfred, Nicholas, and Neil Gaito, and a son-in-law, Joseph Deptula III.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday, July 15th, from 10 to 11 AM. Her funeral service will begin in the parlor at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby.
