Vivian Tinney, an 87 year old Ansonia resident, passed away Dec. 12.
She was born Jan. 18, 1931 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Raymond Tinney Jr. and Margueriette Battle Tinney.
She worked as a C.N.A. for the Veterans’ Hospital in West Haven and the United Methodist Home in Shelton.
She was a member of the Golden Hill Paugussett Native American Tribe of Trumbull and The Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia.
She leaves her son Gary Tinney (Felicia) West Haven, daughters Anita Tinney Green of West Haven & Andrea Tinney of Ansonia, her sister Delores Valeriano of Martha’s Vineyard, grandchildren Andre Tinney, Nicole Green, Ephraim Green III, Robert Green Jr., Maliik Tinney, Jabari Tinney, Tyreek Green, Ashley Dorsey, Marquiesce Hudgins, and Tracey & Nyree Tinney.
Also great grandchildren Jael Alston and Ephriam Green IV. Also survived by niece Darcelle Roseboro (Steven) nephew Howard Tinney Jr. (Jacqueline ) grandnieces Shannon Roseboro,Crystal Tinney and Kaya Tinney.
She was predeceased by her brother Howard Tinney Sr., son-in-law Ephraim Green Jr. and nephew Mark Tinney.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at The Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia.
Friends may call AT CHURCH from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
