Walter F. Burblis

Walter F. WaWa” Burblis, 84, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 20, 2013, at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital.

Mr. Burblis was born in Derby on May 21, 1929, son of the late Stephen and Mary Pietrowicz Burblis. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was employed as a painter for the former D.H. McKenzie Painting Contractors in Bridgeport for 32 years until his retirement. A very religious man and devout Catholic, he was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia.

He is survived by a sister, Victoria T. Burblis of Ansonia and several loving and devoted nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and nephew. He was predeceased by brothers, John, Joseph and Zygmunt Burblis and sisters, Genevieve Choszczyk and Mary J. Tabaka.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday November 22, 2013, (TODAY) from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, his funeral will leave at 10:00 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Navy military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
