Walter F. Kudej

Walter F. Kudej, age 89, of Derby entered into his eternal rest on Sunday February 24, 2013 in CT Hospice in Branford.

Walter was born in Derby October 11, 1923 son of the late John and Helen (Gola) Kudej, and was a lifelong resident. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII in Japan.

He was a retired tool and dye maker for the former Driscoll Wire Co. in Shelton. Walter was very kind a man who enjoyed taking care of his home, he especially loved his flowers, and gardening. He was a very religious man, who would often walk to St. Michael’s Church.

He is the beloved brother of Louis Kudej, and Frank Kudej, both of Derby, Alfreda Levinsky, and her husband Stanley of Middlebury, Gladys Kwiatkowski, of Meriden, and Helen Knapp, and her husband George of Seymour. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 3 brothers Chester, Edward, and Benjamin Kudej, and 2 sisters Ann Kowalczyk, and Frances Miklinevich.

Friends may greet his family on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. On Thursday his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Michael’s Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery Derby.
