Walter H. Drewelus, age 85, entered into eternal rest on August 30, 2022, at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the devoted husband of fifty-seven years to Marion Dojnia Drewelus.
Walter was born in Bridgeport on January 19, 1937. A resident of Seymour, he was employed as a mechanic for American Brass for thirty years until his retirement. A proud veteran, Walter honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Walter was a talented handyman who enjoyed helping others by fixing things. He was an avid fisherman and also liked to hunt.
In addition to his wife Marion, Walter leaves to cherish his memory, sisters, Julia Hemstreet of New York and Maryann Walsh of Derby, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John Drewelus.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 10:30 am, a funeral service and celebration of Walter’s life will take place with Reverend Jeffery Gubbiotti officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
