Wanda Colon Figueroa left this Earth to eternal peace on Friday June 6, 2025 after a brief illness. Wanda was born on January 7, 1958 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Carmen Delia Rivera and Pedro Colon Acevedo.
She married her first true love, Jose Anibal Figueroa on April 5, 1975 and they were married for 49 years before his passing in April 2024. Wanda ran an in home daycare and treated all those children like her own with love and compassion. She was also a supervisor at Valois Of America for many years before her early retirement. Wanda loved shopping and those that knew her best know what store she would shop in for 3 hours or more! She loved Spanish and Italian cuisine and seafood was her favorite. She made the best arroz con gandules and her grandkids can attest she made the best pancakes hands down. Her favorite moments were those spent surrounded by family and having family dinners and holidays together. She was an amazing and nurturing mother to her children and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Wanda is survived by her children, son Jose Figueroa Jr (Rachel) of Oxford and her daughter Ivette Ramos of Seymour. Her grandchildren Jonathan, Ariana , Aidan Figueroa and Alexander Ramos. Her siblings Elizabeth Colon Fernandez, Maribel Colon Figueroa and Ivan Pedro Colon and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years Jose Anibal Figueroa, parents Pedro and Carmen Colon, In-laws Jesus and Amelia Gerena Figueroa, brother in law-Jesus Figueroa Jr, Niece-Elizabeth Fernandez and Son in Law-Ricardo Ramos.
There will be a celebration of life at a later time at the discretion of the family. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
