Wasil Katz, age 86, a lifelong resident of Shelton, died August 17, 2015 at Hewitt Health and Rehab Center, Shelton.
Wasil was born in Shelton, June 24, 1929, son of the late Sidor and Tessie Barasevich Katz. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a Teacher at Shelton Intermediate School for 30 years until his retirement. He was also very active in the singing community with the Stratford Congregational Church for many years.
He is survived by his sisters, Helen Narowski of Shelton, Julia Demanchyk of Southbury, and Mary Karkut of Shelton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul, Peter, and Alexander Katz; and sister, Eva Thomas.
Burial with full Military Honors was private.
