Wendy Kay Bowen, 56, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 30, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She passed surrounded by friends and family.
Wendy was born at Bridgeport Hospital on June 17, 1959, daughter of the late Jean and Edward Bowen.
Wendy was a longtime resident of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, eventually settling down in Seymour.
She brightened the lives around her as a waitress for forty years, spending the last twenty-one years at Johnny’s Restaurant in Fairfield.
She was an avid fan of the New York Rangers hockey team. She had a lifelong love of making people smile. She crocheted numerous small toys for children, and created fractal images that can be viewed on her Pinterest page.
Wendy is survived by her son Christopher, her sister Mary, her brother Edward and his wife, Elizabeth, her niece Kristina, her grandniece Sophia Ovalle, and numerous cousins and extended family.
Per the request of the deceased, there will be no wake or funeral service.
Instead, there will be a life celebration/memorial service at a location and time to be determined.
