Wilfrido E. Viteri, age 85, entered eternal rest on October 19, 2023, at The Willows in Woodbridge. He was the beloved husband of the late Laura M. Chuquin Viteri.
Wilfrido was born in Pillaro, Ecuador on June 2, 1938, son of the late Carlos E. and Teresa Pazmino Viteri. He was employed as a master shoemaker in Ecuador before moving to the United States. He later worked as a machine operator for Hubbell Manufacturing in Newtown until his retirement. Wilfrido was a resident of Derby since 1974 and a resident of Ansonia since 1998. He enjoyed watching soccer and listening to traditional Ecuadorian music. Wilfrido was happiest spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
Wilfrido leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Mauricio Viteri (Natalia) and Johnny A. Viteri Sr. (Angela) all of Ansonia, brothers, Carlos Viteri of Ecuador and Salomon Viteri of Bronx, NY, sisters, Gloria Puebla of Ecuador, Ines Taco of Ecuador and Piedad Viteri of Queens, NY, grandchildren, Kylynn Viteri, Bryan Viteri both of GA, Savanna Viteri of CA, Xander Viteri, Emilia Viteri, Isabella Viteri and Johnny A. Viteri Jr. all of Ansonia, great granddaughter, Elizabeth Sophia Castillo, former daughter-in-law, Doris Viteri of GA, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Galo E. Viteri and his brother, Luis Viteri.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. His funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Interment will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
