William G. Povilaitis, age 90, entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2021 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Center in Stratford.
Mr. Povilaitis was born in Derby on September 5, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Julia Everetts Povilaitis. Although William was born in Derby and lived there for many years, he was raised in the neighboring town of Ansonia. William worked as a driver for BF Goodrich in Shelton and later at CR Gibson Company in Beacon Falls until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the United States Army.
He leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Veronica Kulas of Seymour along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph Povilaitis and Alfred Povilaitis and a sister, Catherine Strode.
A private funeral service with full military honors and interment was held in Beaverdale Memorial Park in Hamden.
